follow the steps to install the vlc player in your ubuntu
1.open applications
2.then choose accessories
3.then open teminal
4.then type the follwing code in the terminal
sudo apt-get install vlc
5.then installation carries out
6.if you got any sound problem [due to pulse audio] type the follwing code in terminal
sudo apt-get install vlc-plugin-pulse
7.anc choose pulse audio as output in vlc options
